"The ultimate app for Geography/Geology amateurs and professionals."
- Mel Martin, TUAW.com

Geology CO is the edition of the popular GIS (geographic information system) covering the state of Colorado. It is a self-contained application (no Internet or cellular access required) that contains a vast amount of information about the geology and geography of Colorado. Using the iPhones GPS, it enables you to navigate the state and get a much better understanding of your surroundings, identify geological formations, mines, quarries, oil wells, rivers, etc....

This release contains 25 layers, which can be combined in any desired way:

- states outlines
- the complete geological map from USGS
- terrain elevation
- almost 90,000 oil wells
- over 7,600 named features (summits, tunnels, cliffs, bridges, etc...)
- fire history
- all earthquakes in recorded history over 3.0 magnitude
- mineral resources
- quaternary faults
- old faults
- public land ownership
- hydrologic units
- USGS quadrangles
- township and range
- urban areas
- counties
- hydrology
- roads and major streets
- railroad tracks
- cities and towns
- 5,500 mines
- potassium/argon dates
- state plane zones
- UTM zones
- main aquifers

Each layer contains additional information about each feature. For instance, the geology layer has a description of the units name, age range, rock type, and description. Each mine has a name, the commodity (e.g. gold, gravel, etc...), the name of the company owning the permit, the permit status, the mine type (surface, underground, etc...), the surface owner (private, federal, state, county), and the mineral rights owner. See our web site (www.integrity-logic.com/layers) for more information about each layer.

There have been a number of improvements since the release of the sister programs Geology CA, Geology TX, Geology NY, Geology FL, Geology WA/OR, and Geology AZ. Two new layers have been added. Several bugs have been fixed.
